  1. In a bowl, soak your raisins in the cognac keep for 30mins or more then separate and pour flour on the raisins
  2. Cream the sugar and butter together till it becomes white and fluffy
  3. Separate your eggs in another bowl, whisk the egg whites till fluffy.
  4. Pour your egg yolks into the creamed butter and whisk, add your vanilla extract, raisins, cognac and browning, whisk till everything mixes well.
  5. Sieve in the flour and baking powder, and pour in the milk when properly mixed fold in the eggwhite.
  6. Rub butter and a little flour in your baking pan, Pour in your cake batter, bake in a 200°C oven for 50mins or till your toothpick comes out clean.
